Have you heard the birds chirping more and noticed it getting dark later in the afternoons again? That means spring is coming, and it is time to open your pool for the season. Everyone here at Mastercraft Pool and Spa is just as excited as you are, and we have some tips from our own personal experience to help you get things started this season on the right foot.

1. Before you open your pool, clean your backyard.

Something many people may overlook when getting ready to open their pool is cleaning up the backyard, especially the areas around the pool. Things have been sitting all winter long and could likely use some TLC.

You can call your landscaper to come and spruce things up if you really want to wow. This isn’t necessary to open your pool successfully, though.

Make sure leaves and any other loose debris is collected and done away with so that it doesn’t blow into your perfectly clean pool.

You may also want to take the opportunity, if it’s warm enough, to pressure wash the area around the pool or the deck or whatever else is looking a little worse for the wear.

2. Before you open your pool, unpack and check your patio furniture.

Once everything in the yard is cleaned and cleared, you can pull your patio furniture from storage or uncover it. Make sure to dust everything off and give it a good wipe-down.

If you are in need of some replacement or extra loungers, come in-store to pick yours up today. This will ensure you are ready for you and your guests as soon as it is warm enough to jump in.

3. Before you open your pool, check your pump and pool equipment.

The next thing to check will be your pump and other equipment. If anything is broken or needs serving, it is time to reach out. Mastercraft experts can help you fix or replace anything that may be going on with your pool equipment, including new ladders, diving boards, etc.

4. Before you open your pool, check your water care supplies.

You will also want to check on your water care supplies. Keeping a good stock of all the necessary supplies will ensure you are ready to take care of your water not only during the opening of your pool but all season long.

5. Make an appointment with Mastercraft experts so that you are on the path to a trouble-free summer!
