Having a shotcrete pool built for your backyard is one of the most exciting times of becoming a pool owner! With endless possibilities for design to fit your space and your lifestyle, it’s only natural to wonder how long the process will take. While there’s no clear-cut answer because a lot of the process varies for reasons such as weather or the size of the project, in general, you can expect an average of eight to 12 weeks to have your shotcrete pool built. Let’s break down the timeline and give you a better idea as to what you can expect from a concrete pool build

Getting the Design Right

Because shotcrete pools can be made in virtually any shape or size, the design process can take on average one to four weeks to ensure your vision becomes a reality in the space you have available. Mastercraft’s 3D pool rendering program is an amazing design tool that makes it easy to plan your entire backyard, future pool included!

Permit Approved

Before we can begin construction, you’ll need the proper permits to show city officials and your community that your pool build is safe and within the building codes for your area. These can be approved in as little as two weeks, but in some cases can take up to six weeks to receive your paperwork. Once we’ve been cleared to start building your swimming pool, things move rather quickly.

Let the Digging Begin

Now that you’ve received your permits, we can start excavating your yard. We start by excavating a hole in the shape and size for your future pool. It should only take a day or two, but in some cases underground utility lines can cause delays. A safe bet would to account for a week for the excavation process.

Electrical and Plumbing

Once we’ve cleared the space for your shotcrete pool, we’ll begin working on the projects that require installation. This includes all of the necessary plumbing and electrical systems. These work to keep your pool functioning properly and are important for your special features like a pool heater, waterfalls, and lights. You can account for this process to take one to two weeks, depending on how complex your pool’s design is.

Finally, Your Shotcrete Pool is Built!

Since your shotcrete pool is “built” on site, it does take a bit longer than other pool options. Once your shotcrete has been sprayed and is complete, it will still need at least a week to cure. Once your pool has set, now’s the time we’ll add those finishing touches. Are you getting extra pool features, like custom lighting or waterfalls? We’ll generally need one or two weeks to get those ready for use, depending on factors such as weather.
