Everyone wants a pool, but when you have a small backyard, it can feel like you don’t have enough space for one. You may be wondering, “Can I fit a fiberglass pool in my small backyard?” The answer is … maybe, depending on the size of your backyard.

How Much Space Do I Need?

When you’re looking to add a fiberglass pool to your backyard, you need to account for more space than just the pool itself. The pool dimensions will include the pool as well as the decking around it. But, that’s not the only thing you need to think about. Do you want space around your pool to sit and lounge? Or do you want a slide for the pool? This space also needs to be taken into consideration.

However, those extras are not all that you need to consider. There are also some details that are not optional. Your local laws may require your pool to be a certain distance from your home. More than likely, your local regulations will also require you to have a fence around your pool, and you’ll need to account for the space between the pool and the fence, and the fence and your home. All of these dimensions together are what you need to calculate to see if you actually can fit a fiberglass pool in your small backyard.

Which Fiberglass Pool Can Fit in My Small Backyard?

Here at Mastercraft Pool and Spa, we have two fiberglass pool options perfect for small backyards. While other pools can get up to 40 feet long, these options are only 16 feet long. If you have room for more than a 16’ pool in your backyard, we have a variety of lengths in between these sizes as well.

As for the smallest sizes, you can choose between the Milan model and the Maui model. The Milan model has dimensions of 10 feet by 16 feet with a 4 foot depth. This is also considered a plunge pool because there is no shallow or deep end; the pool just “plunges” to a single depth.

If you’re looking for a pool with a slight difference in depth, the Maui model may be the option for you. This model is 9 feet by 16 feet, with a depth that goes from 3 feet 4 inches to 4 feet. So, while not a huge difference, you still get a slight shallow end.
